West Clear Creek, Coconino National Forest, Arizona
It’s a steep and precarious hike to this serene oasis, but the scenery at West Clear Creek makes it all worthwhile. I shot a series of photographs at this site, attempting to capture the hypnotic reflections emanating from the mirror-like surface of the water. These particular photographs of the spring-fed creek were taken in the cool morning light on an exceptionally clear day.
A B+W polarizer filter was used to eliminate extraneous glare and to enhance color saturation. Exposore: F/14 1/2 sec. Nikon D70 camera, Nikkor DX 18-70 mm 1:3.5 – 4.5G ED lens, and a Gitzo G 2220 tripod with a Manfrotto 486 head.
