"In hind sight, we were definitely way out of our element and ill-equipped for this kind of storm. Lacking sand goggles or proper clothing, it felt like we were being sand-blasted every step along the way. We were also a bit disoriented, mainly because we hiked off of the dunes a long distance from the original trail head.
All turned out okay when we finally made it back to our vehicle, but we it was days before the sand was out of our eyes and ears. Ditto for our delicate camera equipment ..."
